Description

The NHE recognizes the rivet projection (U), serves as a hold-down device and helps to reliably recognize components before forming with tolerance errors or missing components. The NHE combined with the HPP-25 (necessary for most riveting modes) makes it possible to form relative to the workpiece height in order to compensate to a large extent for component variations. Control criteria such as final head height (H), rivet time (T) or formed rivet shank height (S) can be defined with varying work piece height. Additionally, the NHE allows process monitoring of many different criteria.

As result of the HPP-25 monitoring capability, inspection of components pre or post forming can be eliminated. Additional inspection Stations can be eliminated and production cost can be reduced.

Additional NHE functions, which can be implemented quickly and safely with the Process Control HPP-25:
▪ Primary riveting mode H with HPP-25
▪ Integrated, separate measuring system
▪ Produce precise formed rivet head height ,H' at different component heights, despite flexing of the machine
▪ NHE-U with HPP-25 and auto-compensation allows a formed head height, relative to the rivet protrusion. Smaller protrusion = less forming, greater protrusion = more forming. Amount of compensation can be determined
▪ Rapid approach / working speed based on the work piece elevation for improved productivity
▪ Touch probe acting as a hold-down device on the workpiece base:
▪ NHE-Std: up to 10-40N hold-down force. Adaptable to RNE 151-431
▪ NHE-Big: up to 20-300N holding force. Adaptable only to RNE 281-481
▪ Note: A retrofit may need replacing the length of the forming tool, the form tool holder, and the pressure cup

Benefits and Applications

NHE-"H" stands for H-mode, underlining the rivet height control. The NHE-H has a magnetic scale and the path measurement is integrated in the NHE, instead of inside the riveting unit.

The great advantage of the NHE-H is that it allows forming of exact rivet height within a small tolerance​.
